Achievements

  • The oldest trade association in the U.S. and CIS, representing exclusively American companies with business interest in Uzbekistan, among the trade associations active in Eurasia;

  • Organized investment conferences to highlight the advantages of investing in the Republic of Uzbekistan and facilitate one-on-one meetings between investors and Uzbek officials;

  • Ongoing since 1997, the AUCC has organized a series of annual conferences that focus on trade, investments, capacity-building, and sector-specific opportunities;

  • Hosted President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017 during the UNGA and in 2018 during his meeting with President Donald Trump;

  • Worked successfully to help bring about such historical events in U.S.-Uzbekistan relations as the first meeting between two Presidents (Clinton-Karimov meeting of June 1996) and the first U.S. Congressional delegation to visit Uzbekistan (Chairman Archer Codel of May 1997);

  • Contributed to the early signing of a Bilateral Trade Agreement between the United States and the Republic of Uzbekistan;

  • Supported cultural exchanges with Uzbekistan, including several visits to the United States by student prodigies from the Tashkent Conservatory; and

  • Continues to advocate vigorously for the interests of U.S. business in Uzbekistan and the U.S., building upon the strong ties between the U.S. and Uzbek governments.
