The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

President Mirziyoyev, World Bank Vice President Muller agree on development of new WB strategy for Uzbekistan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today met the delegation of the World Bank led by Vice President Cyril Muller, the president's press service said.

Relevant aspects of bilateral cooperation and its prospects were discussed at the meeting. A particular attention was paid to expansion of assistance in advancement of reforms in key areas, including agriculture, energy sector, oil and gas, transport and other spheres, joint projects in alleviation of poverty, the press service said.

The agreement was reached a new long-term partnership strategy of Uzbekistan and the World Bank will be developed. The previous strategy covers 2016-2020 period.

The portfolio of projects of the World Bank in Uzbekistan reached $5.5 billion. Last year the Bank approved new projects for up to $1 billion. The auction for construction of a solar power plant in Navoi region was held successfully. The country platform was presented in Washington.

President Mirziyoyev said these accomplishments are the result of a close cooperation, open and constructive dialogue between Uzbekistan and the World Bank.

Cyrill Muller said the World Bank supports the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan.
