The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

Head of Global Debt Capital Markets

Mr. Tonelli is Head of Global Debt Capital Markets at Oppenheimer & Co.  Previously, he was Head of International Structured Finance at Bear Stearns & Co. and later at JP Morgan.  He began his career as a lawyer at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, where he ran the Latin American Practice Group.  Mr. Tonelli’s investment banking experience includes many fixed income, M&A, restructuring and privatization transactions throughout the emerging markets. As a fixed income banker, Mr. Tonelli has received numerous awards for financial innovation and leadership from Global Finance, Euromoney, Financial Times, Latin Finance, and Institutional Investor, among others.  He has structured and closed a large number of bond transactions for emerging markets issuers such as the governments of Mexico, Brazil, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, Belize, Suriname, and Aruba, as well as corporate issuers in China, Philippines, UAE, Oman, Argentina, Brazil, Panama, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Honduras, and Mexico. Mr. Tonelli received a B.A. from Columbia University, a JD/MBA from Fordham University and attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.  He is fluent in Spanish and Italian; conversational in Portuguese and French.  He lives in NYC and is married with three children.
