The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

Director for International Government Affairs, Asia

Dave Sutton is the Lockheed Martin International Director for Asia, serving as the primary focal point in Washington DC for Lockheed Martin International activities in Asia. Prior to this he was Deputy Director for Asia for two years, following one year as Deputy Director for Europe. Dave joined Lockheed Martin’s Corporate International Business Development team after a 20-year career in the US Air Force.  His final assignment was as the Chief of the South Asia and Oceania Branch, Directorate of Regional Affairs, in the office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs (SAF/IA), where he was the principle advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and SAF/IA on politico-military affairs, security cooperation, Foreign Military Sales, and building partnership capacity in South Asia and Oceania, including India, Australia, and New Zealand.

Prior to this he was Country Director and Branch Chief for South Asia in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Directorate for Strategic Plans and Policy (J-5), where he was responsible for regional planning and policy, implementation of the National Security Strategy for the South Asia region, and politico-military advice and support to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and National Command Authorities – including development of the US-India engagement strategy for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Before coming to the Pentagon, Dave was Air Force Programs Officer and Defense Cooperation in Armaments Officer with the Office of Defense Cooperation in the US Embassy, New Delhi, India, where he oversaw all US security assistance and foreign military sales initiatives with the Indian Air Force as well as all research & development cooperation and programs between the Department of Defense and the Indian Ministry of Defense.

Dave earned his Master’s Degree in International Relations during a two-year fellowship at the University of Helsinki, Finland.  He has lived and served across Europe and Asia, including operational deployments on the ground and in the air to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Afghanistan.

Dave was a distinguished graduate of the US Air Force Academy in 1992. He and his wife Shannon have three children.
