The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

International Advocacy Manager

Melissa Hudson Russell joined Caterpillar’s Global Governance and Corporate Affairs Division in 2015 as the international advocacy manager with responsibility for Europe and Eurasia.

Prior to joining the private sector, Russell spent 20 years as a diplomat in the U.S. Foreign Service. A specialist in Central Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, Russell served at American embassies in Moldova, Russia and Kazakhstan. At the State Department in Washington, D.C., Russell worked on European and Middle Eastern issues, and managed public diplomacy programs. She speaks several foreign languages, including Russian, Finnish, Kazakh, Romanian and Turkish.  

Russell holds master’s degrees in political science from the University of Texas and in strategic studies from the National War College in Washington, D.C.
