The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Uzbek president receives U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham

www.en.trend.az of 8/26/2011 - Uzbek President Islam Karimov received South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham on Aug.25, the presidential press service reported.

The conversation covered a wide range of issues of regional and international importance.
In particular, the meeting discussed the issue of resolving the situation in Afghanistan, where Uzbekistan has been actively involved in rehabilitating peaceful living standards. It was noted that this country’s economic revival is an important condition for political stability and returning people to constructive lives.

Karimov stressed that Uzbekistan appreciates the establishment of relations with the United States and is more optimistic about their continued development.

Relations in trade, the economy, investing, science, and technology is integral to bilateral cooperation. Bilateral turnover is expected to undergo a significant increase in 2011.
Graham supported the opinion that cooperation between the two countries is important in the international arena; particularly in stability, economic recovery, and resolving the accumulated social problems in Afghanistan.
