The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan sign 52 agreements worth about $500 million

Some 52 agreements valued at about $500 million were signed at the Second Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on Feb. 26 in Urgench, Khorezm region of Uzbekistan.

The agreements were signed as part of the official visit of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin to Uzbekistan and are aimed at development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Forum was attended by more than 300 people, including the Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, businessmen of the countries.

Mamin made a special emphasis on the potential of cooperation between the two countries in transit, transport and logistics.

"For Kazakhstan, your country is access to South Asia, for Uzbekistan, our territory is access to the markets of the EAEU and Southeast Asia, Caucasus and Europe," Mamin said, emphasizing the need to intensify joint efforts to build the infrastructure of the North-South corridor, as well as the development of the Trans-Caspian International transport route.

The Forum allowed representatives of business circles of the two countries to hold B2B meetings, as well as present their production and investment opportunities at a specially organized exhibition.
