The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. IAEA approves four projects worth 1 million euros for implementation in Uzbekistan

The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as part of the Technical Cooperation Program, approved four national projects for implementation in 2020-2021 in Uzbekistan for a total amount of more than 1 million euros.

According to the information of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria, the projects are aimed at building up technical capacity and human resources, developing nuclear infrastructure, strengthening the nuclear and radiation safety of facilities for the peaceful use of nuclear energy in Uzbekistan.

From the Uzbek side, the project executors are the Uzatom Agency, the State Committee for Industrial Safety, the Institute of Nuclear Physics, the National University of Uzbekistan, Samarkand State University, and the Tashkent City Oncology Center.

The IAEA technical cooperation program provides for the strengthening of nuclear and radiation safety in the operation of nuclear facilities in Uzbekistan, the development and implementation of modern nuclear technologies in medicine and other sectors of the economy.
