NAPU Takes Part in the Presentation of the Investment Potential of Uzbekistan in the USA

From 17 to 22 July 2019, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov was on a working visit to the United States. The delegation of Uzbekistan included representatives of ministries and departments, as well as large state and private companies.

On 22 July 2019, an investment forum was held in New York as part of the delegation's working visit: "Capital Market Development Opportunities in Uzbekistan", which was also attended by representatives of the National Project Management Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the opening of the forum, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sadik Safayev, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, and Chairman of the Board of the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm made a welcoming speech.

In their speeches, honored guests noted the positive and dynamic changes taking place today in all spheres of the country's socio-economic development, as well as the steady course of ongoing democratic reforms and economic liberalization, which create favorable conditions for mobilizing investment attraction processes and for domestic companies to enter the world capital market. .

In total, more than 50 American and 20 leading domestic companies took part in panel discussions and one-on-one meetings.

The event included presentations of the potential of the largest national companies and financial structures, as well as discussions with leading US investment funds and banks about the opportunities and prospects for mutual cooperation on primary and secondary placement of securities. An overview of Uzbekistan's capital markets and plans, upcoming IPOs (initial public offering), SPO (secondary public offering of shares), local currency bonds and privatization were also conducted.

In the framework of bilateral meetings, NAPU representatives discussed with investment banks and management companies opportunities to attract investments and technologies in the field of hydropower and mobile communications.
