The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

Uzbekistan govt outlines plan to develop telecom networks

The Uzbekistan Ministry of ICT has prepared a programme on the development of telecommunications services in the country over the period 2019 to 2023, reports Profit.kz. The programme aims to increase network capacity and improve the quality of telecommunications services. 

The programme includes the deployment of more than 120,000 km of fibre-optic lines, more the 6,000 mobile base stations and another 1.5 million broadband ports. New data centres are planned to be built, and existing data centres will be expanded. Capacity of the internet gateway will be increased, and the coverage of Wi-Fi networks will be expanded.

Uzbekistan president Shavkat Mirziyoyev had earlier initiated a national programme for ICT development. The budget for investment was up to USD 200 million in 2018, and the figure is expected to reach USD 500 million this year. The president emphasized the need to attract foreign, inward investors to the ICT sector.
