End of the Year Address by AUCC Leadership

24 December 2018

Dear AUCC Members and Friends,

On behalf of the AUCC, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support that has been provided to our organization for the last 25 years! Today, AUCC is the only premier advocacy organization in the U.S. and Uzbekistan that represents American business and strives to increase economic and commercial benefits for the American and Uzbek peoples. In that regard, what a fabulous year it has been for all of us!

While we are still a week away from the year's end, 2018 has been signified by a number of high-level events, including the first working visit of Uzbek President H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the White House on May 16, the AUCC Signing Ceremony on May 15 of nearly USD 5 billion worth of initiatives and commitments between the member-companies and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the first visit by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Honorable Wilbur Ross to Tashkent to speak at the AUCC-led 2018 U.S.-Uzbekistan Annual Business Forum on October 23 and witness the signing of USD 2.5 billion worth of plans and ideas.

In the view of the AUCC membership, our countries' business interactions are at their highest peak and it is the chamber's lead that has made such achievements possible.  Moving forward, we will continue to focus on issues such as economic growth and stability, innovation, job security, education and social and cultural programs that extend far beyond the business sector.

Thank you again for your membership, participation and contributions that continue to help us progress and strengthen the U.S.-Uzbekistan commercial bonds.  AUCC is committed to our mission to support and build our bilateral commercial, investment and trade  and look forward to a successful 2019 with new initiatives and plans that are of benefit to the U.S. and Uzbekistan.

Happy Holidays!

Carolyn Lamm, AUCC Chairperson
