The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is an international development finance institution dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific through loans, grants, research and technical assistance to its member countries, as well as investments in private companies.  The ADB finances projects for its member countries based off local need and advertises these projects through its website and network.


This event will focus on how to identify and pursue ADB business opportunities as well as how to bid successfully for ADB-financed projects. The speaker will also provide an overview of economic climate in Asia and how ADB supports investment and trade.  


ADB saw the value of contracts awarded in its projects rise by almost 40% from $6.8 billion in 2013 to $9.5 billion in 2016. It is operations in 2017 was $32.2 billion. Learn how your company can take advantage of these opportunities!


About the Speakers:


Ms. Risa Zhijia, Director General of Procurement, Portfolio and Financial Management Department, ADB: She has more than 31 years of professional experience, including 22 years in ADB and 13 years in the People's Republic of China. Prior to joining ADB, she worked at the People's Bank of China as Principal Officer of the International Affairs Department.


Mr. Jeff Taylor, Director of Procurement, ADB: His division covers ADB's portfolio in Central, West and South Asia. Prior to this, he headed ADB's corporate procurement as the Advisor and head of Procurement and Contracts Administration Unit. He has been working on the public procurement of infrastructure projects for 31 years, and the last 11 of which have been with ADB. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply. He has worked in countries such as Fiji, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, the Philippines and Cambodia.
