Uzbekistan will purchase 5,778 units of equipment for agricultural needs of the country in the first half of 2018.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures to further improve the technical equipment of agriculture” on January 4.
The document notes that the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources jointly with Uzagrotehsanoatholding JSC determined the primary need for the supply of modern arable and tilled tractors, combine harvesters, plows, seeders and other agricultural equipment for the spring agrotechnical work in 2018 in the amount of only 5,778 units, including 758 arable tractors, 1,500 tilled tractors, 330 horticultural tractors.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved a framework agreement signed with the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The agreement defines the legal framework for the EIB's activities in Uzbekistan. The Bank will officially be able to support public and private sector projects in such areas as infrastructure, energy and energy efficiency, as well as small business development.

Uzbekistan intends to adopt Kazakhstan’s experience in developing public services, Kazakhstan’s Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption reported Dec. 22.
State Services Department Director Adilbek Mukashev met with representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Justice, and presented one-stop-shop centres and the e-government system, where the Kazakh side presented its experience in assessing, controlling and publicly monitoring the quality of public services.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov will visit Uzbekistan, the Information Policy Department of the President's Office reported on December 11.
The president has today received Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev, who informed the head of state about the preparation of the president's official visit to Uzbekistan scheduled for December 13-14.
The head of state gave a number of instructions to the Minister for careful preparation for the upcoming foreign policy events.

The procedure for compulsory declaration of foreign currency by individuals for import to Uzbekistan and export from the country within the amount equal to or not exceeding the equivalent of $2,000 will be canceled from January 1, 2018.
This change is reflected in the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to further simplify the procedure for the import and export of cash foreign currency by individuals”.
The decree further said that "export by individuals of cash foreign currency outside the Republic of Uzbekistan is carried out without any permits within the amount equal to or not exceeding the equivalent of $5,000”.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed two decrees intended to liberalize the country’s export and import regime:
the Foreign Trade Decree1 which will become effective 1 December 2017, and
the Export-Import Contract Decree,2 which became effective on 10 November 2017 (together, the Decrees).
